Here’s How Misano Track Will Look Like For Formula E 2024
The Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli, a renowned MotoGP venue, is set to host Formula E for the first time on April 13-14, 2024. This marks a significant shift from the series' usual preference for city street circuits to a permanent racing facility.
The circuit layout for the Misano E-Prix features 14 corners across a 3.381km layout, including a chicane at the first Curvone to ensure a fast and challenging race with ample overtaking opportunities.
The decision to move to Misano from the Rome street circuit reflects Formula E's ongoing evolution and its search for venues that balance competitive racing with logistical and financial considerations. The more modern infrastructure and ample space for TV and VIP facilities at Misano were key factors in its selection over other potential locations such as Imola and Vallelunga.
Despite some drivers' concerns about moving away from the challenging EUR district circuit in Rome, Misano's selection is seen as a strategic move to ensure the series' sustainability and growth.
