Kyle Busch: “Neither one of us would see the checkered”
NASCAR fans love to debate who the greatest driver of all time is, but one driver who stands out at Bristol Motor Speedway is Kyle Busch. Despite falling short of the greatest-of-all-time discussion, Busch is one of the sport's all-time greats and the winningest driver in NASCAR history.
Busch has eight victories at Bristol, which is more than any other driver in the current field, and his 2,593 laps led there is more than 1,000 higher than at his next-best track. His style of racing is perfectly suited for sustained success at Bristol, and he has been compared to Dale Earnhardt, who turned in the best average finish at the track among drivers with more than six starts there.
In a hypothetical 10-lap dash to the finish at Bristol with both drivers in their prime, Busch and Earnhardt would be a sight to behold. Busch himself even admitted that neither driver would see the checkered flag in such a battle.
Fans won't want to miss the upcoming NASCAR race at Bristol on Sunday, where they can see if Busch can break back into Victory Lane at the track for the first time since 2019.
